Living a rich, full and rewarding life isn't a given.
Some live inside their minds
You can see it in their vacant eyes
As they speed on by
or impatiently wait in line
Being enthralled with life is not so much about what you do and experience as about your perspective and emotional investment.
Well I feel it now
like thunder from a cloud
the beauty of the day
its rhythm and its sway
While we are never in control of many of the events in life we are often given an opportunity to be life affirming.
We are but cells in the body of life
malignant and deadly or hearty and true
its for us to choose
When we choose to create and adapt rather than destroy or harm we are truly becoming so much more.
Few of us trust that man
can live in peace and understand
how to find joy in life
and not create perpetual strife
Through kindness, joy, love and intimacy we can be so much more. We can become participants in the proliferation of life and not just fortunate recipients of the wondrous bounty of nature.

So Much More 3/25/12
Some live inside their minds
You can see it in their vacant eyes
As they speed on by
or impatiently wait in line
Well I feel it now
like thunder from a cloud
the beauty of the day
its rhythm and its sway
We could be so much more
If we lived to share and not to hoard
Life grows and grows each day
Such is nature’s way
The flux of life is ever changing
the inside comes out, the outside goes in
the mundane imbued
We are but cells in the body of life
malignant and deadly or hearty and true
its for us to choose
Few of us trust that man
can live in peace and understand
how to find joy in life
and not create perpetual strife
What if we could perceive
That abundance surpasses basic need?
Could we live in harmony
get beyond the will to deceive?
Well I feel it now
like thunder from a cloud
the beauty of the day
its rhythm and its sway
We could be so much more
Life could be so much more
We are so much more
if we lived each moment at its core
if we lived for peace and not for war
