The You in Inexhaustible You is life itself or human experience. The process of becoming more intimate with everything from people to nature to areas of interest is never ending. Yet, when we just live in our heads we sometime literally lose touch with ourselves, others and the very body of life.
Life can be captivating and exhilarating during simple times as well as momentous events. Even in its most mundane and redundant times life is still incredible and amazing. All that is needed is our appreciation of how intimately connected we are to the air we breathe and all we feel and think.
In many ways the subtle message of the song is there is no where to go because you are already there. We can find meaning and satisfaction everywhere and in everything. The list of things to know, love, feel and be connected to could be recited from the moment we are born till the moment we die.
It is all there for us to become more intimate and familiar with, and it is our privilege to follow that which entices, elicits and entrances us. As the singer says I am nothing without you, you’re in my every thought, in all I do......sweet inexhaustible you.
lyrics
Inexhaustible You 11/20/12
There’s so much in life to befriend
So much to sense and feel, there is no end
Life gets tricky when I’m thinking
Pushing hard and I’m blinking
Moving further away from the cool inexhaustible you
Sometimes you take my breath away
In deeply nuanced subtle ways
the everyday I take for granted
births all meaning and satisfaction
I’m content but challenged too, by inexhaustible you
So many langauges to speak
From Cantoneese, to Danish, Sanskrit and Greek
Math, poetry, music, drawing, gesture, design,
talking, singing, farming, history, and time
humor, dance, religion, fashion, and rhyme
symbolic logic and technology, too
all express sweet finitude
yes, that inexhaustible you
I’d be nothing without you
you’re in my every thought in all I do
finding words, feeling and meaning
gives a voice to all I’m living
Is the touched and toucher too, inexhaustible you
Me and you, sweet inexhaustible
Me and you, sweet inexhaustible
you
