Facing a life bereft of certainty can be both exhilarating and a bit frightening. The choice isn’t between certainty and chaos, but rather a grey area filled with possibilities and potential tragedies.

A person seeing life as precious and death as a true ending often looks to maximize each and every moment. Many seek the solace and reassurance of the promise of eternal life or of a continuing existence of essence or spirit. Such individuals can find the prospect of a life devoid of certainty to be too daunting and the inevitability of total death to render life meaningless.

Don’t walk away
Seek the eternal deny decay
Make love a concept
Wish our bodies away

Understanding the safety and security offered through belief and certainty the person enthralled with life calls out to their mate.

Let’s please each other

Treat our bodies as art
Mold and hold and exultate

For those willing to live with possibility and uncertainty life is a tenuous process without the prospect of perfection. A process in which we develop and become increasingly intimate with ourselves, others and the world up until our last breath.

I long to unbutton you

One can always reject intimacy and possibility and choose certainty and belief. Sensitive to the seduction of certainty and safety, and realizing the risk they are asking their lover to engage in they ask and implore over and over.
