Even when one's intentions are pure it is hard to know what action to take in a society filled with lies and deception. With so much global pain, suffering and war it is hard to not feel that our very survival is at stake. A caring person often feels incompetent and insecure and begins to doubt their ability to do the right thing. Feeling lost and defeated it is easy for one to become paralyzed with anxiety.

Looking back over one's life it almost always seems as if life was previously simpler and happiness easier to find. The confidence and optimism of youth has faded and has been replaced by a sense of personal failure and a sense of deep disappointment in oneself.

Yet, an oppressive sense of pessimism can often be quickly dispelled when one hears their concerns and fears being echoed by others. When one feels understood and their efforts to be good are recognized then one can once again find the determination and emotional fortitude to continue to make a contribution to the greater good.

The song begins with the instruments and vocal line being stilted, tentative and filled with angst. Yet, soon the vocalist finds his emotions and concerns sympathetically echoed in the sax and back up vocals. His loneliness dissipates and soon the threesome are all speaking the same language. Emboldened by the sense of fellowship and camaraderie the sax and vocals begin to develop a dance and flow which inspires the lead singer to ask his friends to touch, feel and heal him.

It matters little if the sax and back up vocalist are truly others, or just different aspects of the lead singer for in the end it is just the sense of restored wholeness and completeness which alleviates his anxiety and rejuvenates his spirit.

I think many of us feel the same as the vocalist when he says,
