One of the most egregious false hoods, if not all out myths, averred by imperialistic governments is that humans are inherently warlike and not peaceful or harmonious. It is hard to imagine how if hate and war are more natural than peace and harmony that humans now number in the billions.
Some view war as a part of life, like death, work and pain
But war is hatred at every moment, its unnatural and insane
All of life, does change and mend, every storm, soon does end
While scarcity does exist, so does abundance. With resolve and dedication we should be able to provide the basics for all our contemporaries.
Give, tend to need, end misery
Ask what they want, don’t assume they want your lot
Yet, as I've noted in other songs, "the discontented rule the world". Through fear, intimidation, prejudice and propaganda leaders get us to fight against those who are a threat and do not deserve to live.
Power lies in the hands of men who get us to hate
Who make fear their true ally, both camouflage and bait
Yet I heal, and I wait, for other’s care to win the day
It is up to us to demand our leaders to be humane and caring.
The time has come for us to live in community
Treat each other with respect, live honorably
The power of love is in our hearts, fuels our self-esteem
Light a candle in the dark, feed humanity
Instead of being greedy and hoarding all for the few, we need to give and no longer destroy where we live.
