about

Some people blur the line between having a positive attitude and lying to oneself. Crashing Down is one such story.

Life, for the fortunate, is a very long journey. A voyage of great possibility and danger. We are all pilots guiding our ships towards a destination of our choosing.

The trajectory of a rocket is vital. An error of a fraction of a degree will cause one to completely miss their target leaving one to drift aimlessly in space. The singer notes:

"If one never checks a map they are walking blind
They may end up very lost, lose themselves and their mind"

One's life can come crashing down when intimacy and love are just catch phrases and not lived realities.

If this were the early 60's we would now cue the eerily dulcet voice of Rod Serling to give us more details on the story of an unhappy wife and mother as we all enter The Twilight Zone

lyrics

Crashing Down 8/29/06

Her easy smile, eyes warm and engaging
Yet all the while, her fragile world
Comes crashing down, without a tear
She drowns in silent fear
No sound, no cries to hear

She walks with grace, she’s faithful and doting
To husband and kids, who never suspect her life’s
Crashing down, in detached veneer
Her surface calm, so insincere
Deep seated qualms bound to appear

She tells every person her life’s going great
Describes beautiful children her partner as soulmate
She believes optimism creates a fortunate fate
Tries to think happy thoughts avoids all conflict
Everything wrong in the world she blames on male aggression
Still her world comes
Crashing down, without a tear
She drowns in silent fear
No sound, no cries to hear

Begins each day with affirmations says only positive things
Her faith grows each day talks of cosmic interconnection
She believes very strongly she’s walking the right path
Yet if one never checks a map they are walking blind
They may end up very lost, lose themselves and their mind
And her world comes
Crashing down, in detached veneer
Her surface calm, so insincere
Deep seated qualms bound to appear
