This is a song talking about choices we have to feel and be united and develop a sense of community. Life is tenuous and fragile and freedom and joy are creative works which we achieve through attentive and dedicated care for life.

One way or another our dependent social natures will incite us to unite and be part of a family. Yet, it is up to us whether it be a loving and kind family or one based in fear and hatred. The song paints a few scenes demonstrating the role myth and belief have played in men uniting together through ritual and rite.

Just as we outgrew the morality and vanity of our earliest gods is it time for us to create new ways to unite together?
