I'm waiting for people to get excited about living life, about making things happen in a positive life affirming manner.
The song provides the juice, the lyrics provide the attitude all we need is for hearts to provide the resolve and appreciation.
The theme of opportunity lost is most expressed in the lyric there is no miracle going to come, let's not wait.
Waiting for divine intervention, a miracle or for things or social conditions to improve on their own is missing the opportunity of actively engaging in right and life affirming action by helping make the world a better place.
So while I don't want to try to force people to do things against their will, or before they are ready, I want us to jump on the opportunity at the very moment that the world is ready.
lyrics
U Girl 5/15/04
I want you girl to be smart
I want you girl to play the part
I want you girl to be smart
I want you girl to be a star
The tawdry lies have all come into view
Denying the obvious is the best they can do
It’s so cruel girl they broke our hearts
It’s so cruel girl they’ve gone too far
I want you girl to be smart
I want you girl to be the star
We’ve used it all up so fast
These golden times cannot last
I want you girl to be smart
I want you girl to be the star
I need you girl to raise the bar
I need you girl to stop the car
These dangerous times call out for truth
A caring mind can unstick the glue
Let’s not sit out this dance
For it could be the last
Let’s not wait
Let’s not wait
There’s no miracles going to come
There’s no miracle going to come
