We are biochemically constituted with sexual urges and desires to mate and to have children. The degree and manner in which the biological imperative manifests itself varies greatly amongst individuals. Yet, for most people their is little in life more powerful than one's sexual urges. How successful one is in meeting these biological impulses often determines their basic quality of life, contentment, and personal satisfaction.
Making love, is not just a euphemism, but a statement of the potential of fusing the drive of sex with the drive for intimacy. When our biochemistry is satiated we are generally happy and loving, but bad things can happen when our biochemical needs are not met for extended period of times.
Many psychological and emotional problems can emerge when our basic drives are stunted, repressed or left unfulfilled. Sexual repression and prolonged rejection can result in depression, violence, anger and anxiety. We also know that sexual repression can result in perversions and reckless self-destructive behavior.
Sleaze is a song sometimes describing and sometimes hinting at some of the repercussions of a stunted sex drive.
A mentally healthy person often gets their needs met in a very direct manner. Those with mental health issues often find it necessary to try and get their needs met in very indirect, warped, inefficient ways involving stealth or aggression.
