A man in love wants to spend more of his time with his beloved loving, doing and being and less time hearing about all the dramas and petty conflicts his woman has with people and friends. Words are words, he notes, and often betray what is really going on. He cautions her not to tell him any secrets or stories which she will one day regret sharing or even deny every saying to him.
While he longs to listen to her speak of her feelings and dreams, he prefers she does this without her clouding them by her worries and concerns about what others think about her. Yet, along with words he wants their relationship to be about time spent doing and feeling things together.
Their play together and uncomplicated enjoyment of the little beauties of life brings out the love they feel for each other. He finds time spent with her dizzying and intoxicating and finds everything he experiences more meaningful and fulfilling when done together.
Come let us float with the world, he enthuses, let us be dizzy boy and girl. He finds that their passion makes everything in life more vivid and rich. Therefore he asks her to remember him, remember all this, remember life’s impassioned kiss that they feel when experiencing the world together
lyrics
No Secrets 9/21/1987
Tell me no secrets, I no want to play that game
Let me be near you, words are words and often betray
Tell me no lies, and spare me the guise
Tell me no stories you’ll later deny
Feeling, feeling more each day
Listen, listen to our play
Come talk with me of how life would be
If you weren’t to worry about how others feel about you
Feeling, feeling more each day
Listen, listen to our play
This is the way to remember
The feeling of that special child
That somehow got lost in time
This is the way to remember
By rolling in the waves and
Laughing while you play
This is the way to remember
Why you are alive and
Why you like to smile
This is the way to remember
Remember me, remember this
Remember life’s impassioned kiss
Come let us float with the world
Let us be dizzy boy and girl
Breathing so light, feeling all right
Tell me no secrets, come now tell me no secrets
