A young man walks along the seashore holding hands with his girlfriend. As sunset approaches a soft breeze announces evening has come. In the distance they can hear the sounds of distant drums which has the man remember earlier days together they spent dancing late into the night.
Yet, while each and every day he feels closer and closer to her, he senses that she too is very touched by his care and passion. Yet, the closer and more bonded they become the more he senses her hesitating and holding back. Some times when they have spent a long happy day together he feels here pulling away and becoming sullen for no apparent reason. He wonders if she is frightened of what they have together and what in her past causes her to draw away and let go of his warm hand.
At times it appears as if she believes she doesn’t deserve to be in love or to be happy. He yearns to know who taught her to fear and mistrust love, or convince her that somehow her feeling of love and intimacy will end up causing her pain or ruin her life.
In his heart he knows that he has touched her deeply and now only hopes that she will once again open herself to all that their relationship provides. The broken circle can easily be connected if she were only to take hold of his warm hand as they continue their long walk of life together.
