Musicians are fond of talking about finding the groove in a musical piece. The groove of a musical piece or jam session is not just about timing and the musicians being solid and tight, it is when everyone playing the piece is aligned in perfect harmony, when everything is copacetic. The groove cannot be analyzed into existence it occurrence is just a mystery to be open to.
Everyone knows life is a mystery waiting to be spoken
The heat caused by the friction in fantasy arouses one to motion
Calling me, sparking desire, calling me to respond
Keeping alive the rhythm stoking my fiery reputation
When the groove happens all effort and thought disappear and one plays and feels the piece as naturally as one breathes or laughs. One's musicianship even when being extremely creative goes on automatic, and the entire piece, no matter the tempo, feels slower and the space between notes has a clarity and precision which defies physics.
Get in the groove now get in the mood
If you want to know how I feel
Get in the groove now get in the mood
If you want to feel wild and free
Put yourself in my shoes darling
Get in the groove
Athletes and craftsmen have a similar experience when they are "in the zone". Execution of the task become second nature and the clarity with which one moves and performs becomes pleasantly surreal. The Groove is something to be cherished.
The groove in Get in the Groove is about finding that sweet spot in a relationship in which everything just clicks and passion and intimacy don a clarity and beauty which defies intellectual effort. When in the groove one just acts in ways which fulfill each other and gives expression to one's desires and longings. A couple in the groove are naturally attuned to each other, enthralled infatuated and filled with gratitude and appreciation.
Nothing will matter any more
Without your dignity without your sanity
I believe, I believe in humanity
This is how I love to float in emotion
This is how I sway in the heat
Every morning I feast on the moment
Every evening I recall to sleep
Every morning I dance to the rhythm
Every evening I rock to sleep
Just as a musician or athlete has to stop thinking and trying and just learn to be the song or the game to experience groove. Likewise, lover's need to exit their minds and enter/trust their bodies if they want to find the groove. The Groove is about overcoming worry and inhibition and learning to trust yourself and your lover.
You say, “my heart is a fragile thing, leave me alone”
Jump inside the motion that pushes my life, and
I’m quite certain that you’ll feel
Knowledge exploding and emotions unfolding
Like the apple did for Eve
Feel some more, feel much more
Don’t be afraid to be naked and free
