Even before Descartes uttered his famous philosophical dictum,"I think, therefore, I am", man had been predicating his humanity and very existence on his ability to think, to be conscious. Yet, being human and having human experience is far more rich and complex than just being a consciousness engaged in worded thought.

One could make a strong case that without our ability to sense and perceive we would not be able to think, or at least thought without sentience and sensorial experience would be rendered empty and meaningless.

While most sentient animals have little if any conscious thought, or self-conscious awareness of their own existence, their lives are full in sensorial and emotional wonder. Man is not the only animal that feels and has a quality of life. Many animals feel fear, comfort, joy, pain and contentment.

Music is a universal language not just for humans but for much of sentient and organic life. Even plant life responds to sound, and many animals produce sound to communicate, express and feel connected to others of its kind.

I put a lot of thoughtful care into the lyrics for my songs. Yet, no matter how proud I am of how well I articulated my thoughts and feelings through word, I feel that the music adds an entire dimension to what I'm expressing, creating and conveying. There are many feelings and experiences that can be captured and elicited through music that cannot be replicated through words.

Rock music covers an incredible expanse of sound, and can usually accommodate and incorporate most other musical genres. The majority of the music on this album fits solidly in the classic rock sound, but includes some soul, funk and R&B influences.

The fact that we are so much more than a conscious thinking being, led me to the title of this album. I exist not only because I think, but because I feel, see, hear, smell and taste. I live in the moment, anticipate and plan for the future, and incorporate the past providing me with a sense of self and a sense of personal growth and development.

Yes, "I Rock, Therefore, I am". Music and experience fill my life as air fills my lungs. All of life from birds, to insects, to animals sing life. the mighty chorus of nature rocks our lives and connects us all together.
